Magnificat Women’s Life in the Spirit
Susan Potvin, Karen Herrmann, and Carolyn Cannizzaro

Retreat starts Friday with rosary and Mass at 7:00pm, ends Sunday with Noon lunch.

You Have Been Given a Gift – Let’s Stir it Up!

You may know God as Father and Jesus, His Son… But do you have a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit?  If you have been baptized and confirmed in the Church, you have already received the Holy Spirit.  But how active is the Holy Spirit in your life?  How do you perceive the Holy Spirit? How do you walk daily in His victory and power?

Jesus said He would send the Holy Spirit and we would do even greater things than He did!  Jesus wants us, needs us to embrace the Holy Spirit to be the effective Christians He has called us to be.  (John 14:12-17)

The Lincoln, NE Chapter of Magnificat Women’s Ministry is hosting this women’s retreat to learn how to activate more of the Holy Spirit within us.  This Life in the Spirit Seminar Retreat is an invitation to make or renew a deep personal commitment to Jesus Christ in openness to the Holy Spirit and His Spiritual and Supernatural Gifts. It serves as an introduction and activation to renew life in the power of the Holy Spirit. It provides teaching, guidance, and prayer leading to a new and deeper relationship with the Lord through the Lord’s promise – the Holy Spirit.  Life in the Spirit Seminars have grown out of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. Since 2019, Pope Francis has been asking to make the Baptism in the Spirit available around the world, to everyone in the Church.

Leading our retreat this year is the Living Praise Worship Team from Steubenville, OH.  Susan Potvin, Karen Herrmann and Carolyn Cannizzaro will be presenting talks and testimony, lead us in praise and worship, and pray with us for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. These women have been leading others to a deeper relationship with the Lord and the Holy Spirit for over 40 years.  They have been involved with Magnificat – Ministry to Catholic Women for 25 years.  They currently lead worship at the Pittsburgh, PA Chapter, Greensburg, PA Chapter and the Canton, OH Chapter and have all spoken at various Magnificat chapters sharing their testimony.

Susan has been the leader of the Living Praise Worship Team for 25 years. Living Praise provides all the praise and worship for the International Magnificat Conferences and has produced 7 albums recorded live at these Conferences. She is the Chair for Worship for the whole ministry of Magnificat where she works to raise up worship leaders, give worship workshops and build a network of praise and worship to support the Magnificat Ministry.  She is an international speaker and is also a certified Spiritual Director.

Karen has been on fire with the Holy Spirit since the very early days of Charismatic Renewal.  She has given countless talks on the Holy Spirit and has authored the book, “Come Holy Spirit”.  She is a prolific songwriter and has produced over 10 albums of original worship music.

Carolyn is a Regional Service Leader for Worship for Magnificat, a graduate of Encounter Ministries and heads up a Healing Ministry, “Hem of His Garment”. She is a council Member of the National Service Committee of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the US / Pentecost Today USA, and is currently taking classes for Spiritual Direction Certification at St. Vincent’s Seminary.
