LDCCW Winter Symposium

Jan. 30-31, 2026
with the Lincoln Diocesan Council of Catholic Women

The 2-day symposium starts Friday, Jan. 30, at 6 p.m. It concludes Saturday Jan. 31 at about 3:30 p.m.

Registration begins Friday at 4:30 p.m. with an option 5:00 p.m. fellowship meal (bring your own food). The evening begins with a 6 p.m. talk, followed by a time of prayer, adoration, and worship before the Holy Eucharist. The evening will conclude with a time to gather in friendship and refreshments.

The remainder of the conference retreat on Saturday 9:15 a.m. to 3:30pm will feature devotions and speakers, including Mass and lunch. Women of all ages can come either Friday, Saturday or both.

It is called a symposium because it contains opportunities for connection and discussion, not just a conference where one merely attends, or a retreat simply for prayer. Therefore, this is not silent like the regular retreats held at the Retreat House. It’s an opportunity for women to share a friendship in Christ with each other, by sharing their talents, ideas and zeal to serve the Lord in their parishes.

The LDCCW, under the direction of the diocesan bishop, provides for the spiritual and physical needs of others through prayer and action. The Council was founded in 1932 by Bishop Louis B. Kucera in an effort to unite all Catholic women in the diocese.

Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House offers a sanctuary of prayer and recollection on a spacious acreage near Waverly. There are 50 single rooms, each with a private bath.

We want our retreats to be accessible to everyone, please consider an additional donation, or contact the Retreat House to inquire about financial assistance or if your parish pays part of the cost. If the retreat you’re interested in is full, contact us to be put on a waiting list. A few double rooms are available upon request. Airport transportation to/from LNK or OMA is also available upon request.
